2018 Hyundai Creta Facelift To Debut At Auto Expo 2018
South Korean automaker, Hyundai had launched the Creta facelift (Hyundai ix25 facelift) in the Chinese market in the second half of 2017. In India, Hyundai had launched the slightly revised Creta in early 2017. Though, it comes with feature upgrades and new variants. Korean brand is now planning to launch the heavily modified Creta in India. The new Hyundai Creta 2018 facelift is likely to make its India debut at the 14th edition of Delhi Auto Expo, which is scheduled to commence from February 7.
This compact SUV is a crucial product for the company and it accounts for a huge chunk of Hyundai’s monthly sales. Besides Creta facelift, Hyundai will introduce the updated versions of the Elite i20 and i20 Active. Moreover, the company will showcase the stylish Kona 5-seater premium SUV and Ioniq pure electric at the Auto Expo 2018. The facelifted Creta, set for launch by mid-2018 will act as a buffer until the new generation model is rolled-out in 2021.
The Hyundai Creta 2018 facelift has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. It will have cosmetic design upgrades and a re-tuned engine line-up. The model will receive subtle styling updates, visible largely on the front profile. Expect some changes and feature upgrades inside the cabin as well. It was speculated that the Creta facelift could also get mild hybrid technology.

New Hyundai Creta 2018 India Launch
Already on sale in Chinese and Brazilian markets, the new Hyundai Creta 2018 facelift will make its India debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The launch, albeit will take place post the biennial event by mid-2018.

Hyundai hasn’t revealed anything officially about the Creta facelift, but it will share some of its features from the Brazilian or Chinese-spec models. Another major change will be in the form of new infotainment system and added features. While the base version of the SUV is expected to be priced at Rs 10 lakh, the top-end model could cost around Rs 15 lakh.

The Creta facelift was first unveiled at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show and is already on sale in the Brazilian market. It was unveiled with some new elements, nothing comprehensive though. Since India-spec model will receive changes along the same lines, it will get changes in-sync with Hyundai’s new fluidic design philosophy. The new model will get cascading grille in front, subtly restyled bumper and horizontal fog lamps. Side profile of the car remains largely identical to the outgoing model, though it receives minimal changes to keep things fresh in the market. It is equipped with a newly styled alloy wheels. The bold chrome band running across the tailgate is another change. Dimensionally, it will not witness any change and carry over the same proportions from the current model.
This facelifted model will measure 4,270mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,630mm in height and has a wheelbase 2,590mm. It comes with a ground clearance of 183mm, which is more than sufficient to tackle Indian roads. The SUV comes with a boot space of 400-litres, which is good enough to accommodate 4-5 suitcases.

Inside the cabin, it is unlikely to receive comprehensive styling updates, instead Hyundai could equip new tech including some safety provisions and comfort goodies. Features such as AVN system with touchscreen, rear parking camera and sensors, automatic climate control, ESC, VSM and height adjustable driver seat etc will be carried over from the pre-facelifted model. The cabin styling of the Creta is inspired from the Verna and the Elite i20. It is equipped with several comfort and connectivity features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, power steering, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear air-conditioning vents, etc.

The updated Creta will continue to feature the same set of engine from the current model. Petrol variant of the car will be propelled by a 1.6-litre dual VTVT engine that is capable of producing a maximum power output of 121bhp and a peak torque of 151Nm. Diesel range of the SUV comprises of 1.4-litre CRDi unit and a 1.6-litre U2 CRDi VGT. While the former is capable of producing 89bhp of power and 220Nm of torque, the 1.6-litre engine is good for 126bhp of power and 259Nm of torque. While the 1.4-litre unit is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox, the 1.6-litre diesel engine comes with a six-speed manual unit as standard and a six-speed automatic as optional.

Since there will be no change in the engine set up, the mileage is expected to remain unchanged. That said the petrol engine will continue to deliver 15.29kmpl. The 1.4-litre oil burner with a claimed mileage of 21.38kmpl and 1.6-litre unit with 19.67kmpl for manual and 17.01kmpl for automatic will also be retained.
Hyundai Creta 2018 Suspension & Braking
For suspension duties, the new Creta facelift comes with McPherson strut with coil spring at the front and coupled torsion beam axle with coil spring at the rear. The braking system comprises of disc and drum at the front and rear.
