Audi Q8 Sports Concept Revealed In Geneva

Audi revealed the Q8 Sports Concept on the first day of the on-going Geneva Motor Show. This isn’t the first appearance of the company’s upcoming flagship SUV; Audi previewed the Q8 SUV concept early this year at the 2017 North American International Auto Show. The Audi Q8 Sports Concept revealed yesterday in Geneva is the performance version of the SUV which will sit at the top of the Q8 range and could be retailed under the SQ8 nameplate.

Expected to be released in 2018, Audi Q8 will be released in overseas market before it debuts in India and the recently revealed performance Sports version will follow suit in 2019.

Donning a sportier and bold look, the Audi Q8 Sports Concept carries several new elements that distinguish it from the Q8 concept revealed early this year at the Detroit Motor Show. In the front, there is a redesigned single-frame honey-comb trapezoidal grille, larger air-ducts on the structured bumper, laser headlamp units with dark inserts and similar LED graphics from the previous concept.

The wheel housings are wider by 12mm and the new 23-inch alloy wheels reinforce the aggression. Round the back, the sports concept features oval shaped exhaust units and other styling bits like black finished mirror caps, side sills and blackened rear diffuser set it apart from the Q8 concept revealed in January. Nothing much is known on the interior front, but Audi will pack plethora of high tech comfort goodies and connectivity features to make it more desirable.
