Jeep Compass To Unveil On April 12, 2017
FCA India has officially announced that the much-awaited 2017 Jeep Compass SUV will make its official debut in India on April 12. It will be first Jeep product to be locally developed, and will be rolled out from the FCA-Tata joint venture plant in Ranjangaon. Adding to it, the company will also export this model to several right-hand driven nations. As a reminder, Jeep entered into India last year with two of its iconic models – Wrangler Unlimited and Grand Cherokee. Carrying a lofty price tag, both the SUVs cater to the elite class that accounts for a small share in the Indian market.
The new Compass will be equipped with projector-beam headlamp with LED signature lights, electrically operated liftgate, a panoramic glass roof, etc. The cabin will get a 7.0-litre full color LED instrument cluster, Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple carplay and Android Auto, etc. The new SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The oil burner is likely to be Fiat’s 2.0-litre Multijet II unit paired to either a manual and automatic unit. On the other hand, the petrol model could get a 1.4-litre FIRE MultiAir 2 or a 2.0-litre TigerShark unit. Off-road equipment will be standard on the range topping variants including the four-wheel-drive system.

Commonly known as the C-SUV, Jeep will assemble it locally at Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra. Heavy localisation would bring down the cost substantially making it the most affordable model in Jeep India’s current line-up.
