Maruti’s Kwid Rival In The Works To Debut At 2018 Auto Expo

The Indo-Japanese passenger carmaker, Maruti Suzuki has some really exciting products scheduled for its buyers. According to a latest Autocar report, the company is planning to bring in an all-new cross-hatch. The new Maruti small car will be a direct rival to the Renault Kwid that has hampered the Alto’s sales ever since its launch in 2015. Attributes that worked in the favour of the Kwid are its crossover-ish design, feature-loaded cabin, efficient engine and the most importantly aggressive pricing.

Aiming to challenge the Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki will bring-in a cross-hatch that is rumoured to be based on the Crosshiker concept. First previewed at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2013, the Crosshiker concept represents the company’s futuristic design approach for mini crossovers. If designed on this concept, the new Maruti small car will surely prove a tough competitor for the Kwid hatchback.
