Honda, the Japanese automaker has recently launched the updated City and the all-new WRV compact SUV in India. It is expected that the company will also launch the mid-life facelift version of the Jazz hatchback in the country in near future. In fact, Honda Brazil has already started testing the updated model in the Brazilian roads. The new Honda Jazz 2017 facelift will get changes to both exterior and interior, with majority of updates will be given to its styling.

It is expected that the Jazz 2017 will get styling changes on the front and rear end. The updates will be in-line with the new City sedan. The vehicle is likely to get new LED headlamps, a bolder front grille, redesigned bumper and revised fog lamp housing. Its rear is expected to get restyled bumper and new LED tail-lights. Talking about interiors, the new Jazz could get new upholstery, updated instrument panel and new 7-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system.

The 2017 Jazz will continue to feature the same set of engine – a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic (Petrol).

The Japanese automaker is yet to make an official announcement on its launch date. But we expect the 2017 Jazz could go on sale towards the end of this year. We will update you as soon as Honda reveals anything on its launch.

New Honda Jazz 2017 Price In India

With new features and styling upgrades, the new Jazz could be priced slight more than the current model. We expect the new model to be priced in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh.

Mechanically, the new Jazz will remain the same. The petrol version is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC unit that churns out a maximum power output of 87bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm. A five-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels come as standard, while a CVT automatic unit is offered as an optional. The CVT geaarbox will also get a 7-speed paddle shifters.

On the other hand, the oil burner is a frugal 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit that also powers the City and the Amaze. This engine belts out 99bhp of power at 3,600rpm as against 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Since the new Jazz will feature the same engine lineup, there will not be much changes in its fuel efficiency. The petrol unit in avatar is claimed to deliver 18.7kmpl, while the CVT model returns 19kmpl. On the other hand, the diesel version returns a fuel efficiency of 27.3kmpl.

New Honda Jazz 2017 Exterior & Interior

Like the new City, the Jazz’s design inspiration comes from Honda’s new ‘EXCITING H Design’ philosophy. The vehicle will get some design upgrades, especially at the front. It is expected to get a new aggressive grille with thick chrome strip, redesigned LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, new LED fog lamp enclosures, etc. The wheel arches will be fitted to a newly designed 15-inch alloys. The rear end will get redesigned bumper and new LED tail-lamps.

The overall cabin design will remain unchanged, but it will have new features and subtle changes. The top-spec models will be equipped with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with turn-by-turn navigation. This system also gets a 1.5 GB media memory, satellite linked navigation, MirrorLink smartphone connectivity and WiFi support for internet. Other changes include new 3D multi-information meter and new dashboard.
