Hyundai, the South Korean automaker will launch the facelifted version of the i20 Active at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018, which is scheduled to commence on February 7. The company will also launch the Elite i20 facelift at the 14th edition of Asia’s biggest automotive event. Besides, Hyundai will showcase the Kona SUV and Ioniq electric at the auto show. The 2018 Hyundai i20 Active will come with several new changes in-line with Hyundai’s new fluidic design philosophy. The 2018 Hyundai i20 Active facelift is based on the i20 facelift and shares same design as the premium hatchback.

However, it features several crossover like elements including roof-rails, skid plate and the black cladding on the sides. It is now equipped with trapezoidal front grille, blackened honeycomb mesh grille and sharp sweptback headlamps. The updated model also gets new projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps. Several changes are also offered inside the cabin, which now equipped with a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The company will officially unveil the new i20 Active facelift at the Auto Expo 2018. The launch could take place before the end of this quarter. We will update our readers as soon as Hyundai announces anything on the same.

2018 Hyundai i20 Active facelift Price

New design changes and added features will make it slightly more expensive than the outgoing model. The new model is expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 10.25 lakh.

2018 Hyundai i20 Active Facelift Specifications

The i20 Active facelift comes with same set of engines – 1.2-litre Kappa petrol and 1.4-litre CRDi diesel, which also powers the i20 hatchback. The gasoline engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 82bhp and a peak torque of 114Nm. On the other side, the oil burner is good for 89bhp of power and 220Nm of torque. Former comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the latter is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The updated i20 Active shares most of its design cues from the Elite i20 facelift, but it comes with several crossover like elements. It is equipped with roof-rails, skid plate and black cladding on the sides. The updated model comes with Hyundai’s new fluidic design philosophy, featuring trapezoidal front grille, blackened honeycomb mesh and slightly revised and sharper sweptback headlamps.

It is now equipped with projector headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lamps. The side profile of the 2018 Hyundai i20 Active comes with sharp creases and newly styled alloy wheels. In terms of proportions, the new model is identical to the outgoing model and continues to sit under 4 meter in length. It measures 3,995mm, 1,760mm and 1,555mm in length, width and height, respectively.

Majority of the changes are offered inside the cabin. It now comes with more stylish and feature rich interior. The hatchback is equipped with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The changes are in-sync with the i20 facelift, featuring all-black dashboard.

2018 Hyundai i20 Active Suspension, Braking

For suspension mechanism, the new i20 Active gets McPherson strut with coil spring at the front and coupled torsion beam axle with coil spring at the rear. Stopping power comes from Disc brake at the front and drum at the rear.
