Tata Harrier SUV Expected Price, Launch and Other Details


Tata Motors, the homegrown automaker has finally announced the name and launch details of the much-awaited Tata H5X concept based SUV. Called the Tata Harrier, the SUV will officially go on sale in the first quarter of 2019. The company has also released few design sketches of the SUV, revealing the exterior styling.

The Tata Harrier 5-seater premium SUV has already been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads. This model is based on Tata’s new flexible OMEGA platform, which is developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover. This architecture is derived from the legendary Land Rover D8 architecture and is modified to suit the Indian conditions by Tata Motors engineers.

The Tata Harrier will rival the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson/Creta and Mahindra XUV500. Featuring Tata’s new IMPACT Design 2.0 design language, the production-ready model’s design will stay largely true to concept. It will be powered by the Fiat’s sourced 2.0-litre Multi-Jet diesel engine that also powers the Jeep Compass. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.

Similar to the latest Tata cars, the upcoming 5-seater SUV is expected to carry an aggressive price tag. The concept model, showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, was measured around 4.5 meters in length. We believe that the new model could carry a price tag of around Rs 12 lakh and Rs 18 lakh.

Tata Harrier Launch Date

Tata Motors has officially released the design sketches of the upcoming H5X concept based SUV – Harrier. It is expected that the production-spec model will make its global debut in November 2018. The company has confirmed that the launch of the Harrier SUV will take place in the first quarter of 2019.

This SUV will share 2.0-litre MJD diesel engine from Jeep Compass, which offers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17.1kmpl. The Harrier will get the less powerful version, which could return close to 18kmpl.
