Tata Nexon Compact SUV Launching In Q3, 2017
Tata Nexon recently made an appearance at the 87th Geneva Motor Show alongside other future models. A near production version of the subcompact SUV was showcased at last year’s Auto Expo and since then, it has been spotted testing across the country, giving insight into the changes before it hits production.
While it retains most of the styling and design cues from the concept model, Tata has made several changes to the exterior and interior. In one of the latest sightings, the vehicle was seen sporting production ready bumpers, door protectors, tail-lamps and wheels. The new dynamics on the SUV is in line with Tata’s IMPACT design tenet that gives it sporty and peppy look. Tata claims to have added aerodynamic design cues to the vehicle, aiding enhanced visibility from front, rear and sides. Use of elements like chrome treated ‘Humanity Line’ upper grille, headlamps with DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, sharp beltline and LED tail-lamps infuse aggression to the exterior profile.
On the inside, it is spacious, packed with several best-in-class features like Harman sourced touchscreen infotainment system, rear air-conditioning vents, leather seats etc. Tata has also worked around storage space which adds to the practicality of the cabin. Mechanicals powering the SUV include a new 1.5-litre Revotorq oil burner and the 1.2-litre, Revotron turbocharged unit with a standard-speed manual and optional AMT unit. Set for a festive season launch, Nexon will face off arch rivals Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport in the segment.
