TVS Akula 310 Launch Likely In Q2, 2017
TVS Akula 310, the much-awaited sportbike from the homegrown automaker, will soon go on sale in the Indian market. This fully-faired motorcycle is currently in testing phase, and has already been snapped testing multiple times in the country. If reports are to be believed, the motorcycle is all set to enter into production line. First showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo last year, this new TVS bike received a commendable response from visitors that encouraged the manufacturer fast-track its production than the original plan.
The Akula 310 is based on the BMW G310R platform, which will be BMW’s most affordable naked streetfighter in India. It will be powered by a liquid-cooled 313cc single-cylinder petrol engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Developed by BMW, this engine is good for 34bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. The concept was equipped with adjustable suspension and a steering damper to stress on its track focus. These features are not likely to be offered on the production-ready model. Once launched, the TVS Akula 310 will gun up against the KTM 390 Duke, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3.

Once launched, the Akula will be the most powerful and fastest bike from TVS Motor Company. In the named, the word Akula is derived from Russia where it means shark.

TVS Motor Company has already confirmed that the production version of the Akula 310 will be launched in the first hald of this year. Sources suggest that the bike could be launched in Q2, 2017. We will update you as soon as TVS announces its launch details.
