Upcoming Bajaj Bikes In India In The Next 2 Years
A major player in the world’s largest two-wheeler market (according to latest data), Bajaj accounts for a sizeable share in the bike segment, thanks to its famed Pulsar series and other popular models in the range. Early last year, Bajaj introduced the V15 moniker in India, that uses metal from the dismantled air craft carrier, INS Vikrant. Almost a year after introducing V15, Bajaj added another model to the V range by launching V12 premium commuter. In 2015, the company rolled-out, 8 new bikes to its portfolio and it intends launching a set of 5-6 new models in the coming months. These new Bajaj bikes, as confirmed by company officials will belong to three major categories-Entry, Executive and Sports. Bajaj’s V series that currently offers two bikes-V15 and V12, is likely to receive a new entrant, V22. This new bike will reportedly be larger than the current models and is expected to be based on the Pulsar 220. While Bajaj has not revealed any official information on the same, the bike, expected to be named V22 could share powertrain and engine from the Pulsar 220.
The 220cc, oil-cooled engine, coupled to the 5-speed unit is likely to make 21.05PS of top power at 8,500rpm along with peak torque of 19.12Nm at 7,000rpm. Suspension set up will likely comprise telescopic forks at front and monoshock absorbers at rear. While stopping power will come from Brembo disc brakes and it could get an ABS system also. In terms of design, the bike could share inputs with both café racer and scrambler.

Bajaj Pulsar CS200
With rise in demand for cruiser sports, Bajaj Auto is contemplating launching an affordable cruiser sport. Design cues on the new Pulsar CS200 are likely to be borrowed from CS400 concept, while the silhouette will be akin to 200NS. Power source for the sports cruiser will be the 199.5cc, triple spark, 4-cvalve, liquid-cooled DTSi unit that makes 24.3bhp at 9,500rpm with 18.6Nm torque at 8000rpm. The engine is expected to be linked to a 6-speed manual unit.
