2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift Variant Details Leaked
The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2018 facelift will go on sale in India sometime next year. Ahead of its launch, the variants details of the vehicle have been surfaced on the web. The updated model will come in 5 trim levels – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and Sport. While the first four trim levels are shared with existing Nexa cars, the top-spec Sport variant is the new one. This new Sport version could be introduced as replacement to the Ciaz RS, and might come with a body kit and spoiler. Maruti Suzuki now retails the Ciaz through its premium NEXA dealerships.
For 2017, the new Maruti Ciaz 2018 will receive cosmetic and feature upgrades, thus making it more premium than the current one. Feature-wise, the saloon’s updated model might also get a sunroof available only on the top-spec model of the carline. No mechanical changes will be made to the car. It will continue to feature the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 SHVS engine and a 1.4-litre petrol engine.
Speculations was that the new model will get a new 1.5-litre M15 petrol engine. However, the latest reports suggest that the vehicle will continue to feature the same 91bhp, 1.4L K-Series unit. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual (standard) and a 4-speed automatic (only on the Delta, Zeta and Alpha petrol variants). The company will also launch the Ciaz Taxi variant, which will be specifically introduced to target commercial segment. In India, the new Ciaz will lock horns against the Honda City facelift and new Hyundai Verna.
