Leaks and rumors regarding the Huawei Honor 8 lite have been surfacing online for the last few weeks and now the company has made the smartphone official in China.Huawei launches Honor 8 lite with 4GB RAM Kirin 650 SoC in China.
An affordable version of the Honor 8, the Honor 8 lite ditches it’s big brother’s dual rear cameras in favour of a singular sensor and comes with the Kirin 655 octa-core processor as compared to the superior Kirin 950 in the Honor 8.
Design wise, the smartphone is made from metal and glass, with a fingerprint sensor on the back, power and volume button on the right and the Huawei branding on the front and back.
The smartphone comes with a 2.5D 5.2-inch fullHD display with a resolution of 1920×1080, 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card (of up-to 128GB) and a 3,000mAh non removable battery.
On the imaging front, the device comes with a 12MP sensor on the back with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 8MP camera on the front. When it comes to software, the handset comes with Huawei’s own EMUI 5.0 running atop Android 7.0 Nougat.
Additionaly, rumours indicate that the company is also expected to launch a variant of the Honor 8 Lite with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage in the future.
Price and availability
The Honor 8 lite comes in three variants – one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage for 1099 Yuan (roughly Rs 10,700), a mid-range model with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage for 1399 Yuan (roughly Rs 13,600) and the top of the line version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for 1599 Yuan (roughly Rs 15,600).
The smartphone will be available in four color variants, namely Midnight Black, Sea Blue, Streamer Gold and Pearl White and will go on sale in China on February 28.
